Hey Tweets,

To add to the owl thread - I heard a Northern-Pygmy Owl midmorning in Mason County yesterday, regularly hear Barred Owls at Deception Pass State Park during late September trips to the Cornet Bay ELC, and had the report of Western Screech-Owls that I mentioned in the previous post. Hands-down my favorite time to go owling is when they are doing their thing without any prompting from me!

In Mason County, over Purdy Cutoff Road, I also saw a dozen circling Turkey Vultures, and popped the data into eBird. I'd definitely encourage compilers of that information to watch eBird as well, and would equally encourage people to get their data into eBird! Even if you only liimited yourself to putting in data for species you are concerned with (for example with the Turkey Vultures), or a place that you regularly bird, it does so much to help paint a picture of bird distribution and movement for people that are studying them.

All right, that should be enough for an evening.

Happy birding, y'all!
