Hi Tweets....Just a reminder the Oyhut Game Range is open to Youth
Hunting this weekend, the 22nd & 23rd; although I rarely hear any
shooting after the early morning, I just don't go out there during
hunting days. I was out there yesterday morning with some visitors
from out of town, during low tide, and while the numbers of birds were
very low, it made it easier to spot the Sharp-tailed Sandpipers (2)
and the Ruff (1)...and we had great looks at the young yellowlegs. We
tried to find the eider, with no luck. She may have finally left the
area, but I'll keep trying. We also saw two Lapland Longspurs in the
piles of fresh eel grass at the wrack line on the beach.

When I returned home two Steller's Jays alerted me to a Barred Owl in
my back yard; I haven't seen one in my yard for at least a year.
