Today was a Special Day FOR ME in Bottle Beach.
First I run in to this real nice couple of birders there life in Vancouver
Wash.We had the wait for a while before any birds appeared,so we talked
about the many places we went to find the good one.It is the birder who
found the Snowy Owl in the Summer in Eastern WAS.BUT THE BAD NEWS IS THE
BIRD
DIED,SHE TOLD ME THE WHOLE STORY,THE VET COULD NOT SAVE THIS BIRD.I WILL
FIND OUT THERE NAME from Cherry Hagen,there friends.
The tide was at345 PM,so the birds should have come 4 hours earlier with a
9.5 foot. and the tide came so slow.And we waited,it seems so slow,but all
came from the left side and was feeding the beach slowly.We walked out to
getting closer looks,this birds acted quite timed ,so we wait by standing
still.There where like Marv wrote about 400 Red Knots what I FOUND HIGH FOR
THIS LATE SEASON,BUT THINGS ARE NOT THE SAME AS 20 YEARS AGO.lot,S OF
black -BELLIED PLOVERS.and 1 ADULT Pacific Golden Plover and than there was
the Best Bird A JUVENILE SHARP-TAILED Sandpiper.Patrick and I BEEN BIRDYING
ON THIS AREA FOR YEARS FINDING A LOT OF
GOOD BIRDS,BUT I never had a SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER on Bottle Beach.I will
post some photos of this bird tomorrow.
