Early this morning (3 a.m.), when I got up for a little break, in walking around the outside of my house, I heard a familiar shriek coming from the dark sky overhead - a Barn Owl ! Too bad it didn't swoop in to pick up a rat or mountain beaver that share our neighborhood space !

I've been checking Magnuson for BAOW, have seen the occasional one flying the meadows behind the sports fields, but no new signs of a new round of young as there have been in the past few years (Oct. in 2010).
