Today the Steller's Jays alerted me to a Red-tailed Hawk sitting
about 20' up in a waterfront cedar, where it was eating a fish. I
didn't see it get the fish, so I don't know if the acquisition was
dead or alive when caught, or whether it was piracy from another
bird. Just when I think I know the boundaries of a species'
behavior, it surprises me! When finished, the hawk flew out across
Fawn Lake.
