While out watering this morning I noticed four large white birds heading north over my place near Tahuya. First thought was trumpeter swans but then I noticed the black underwing tips, shorter neck and faster wingbeat. Another good look identified them as snow geese. I've never had them over my place before so this is a new yard bird. Seems to be the weekend for new yard birds as Saturday morning a lovely ruffed/dusky grouse wandered into the yard and up to the house where the feeding area is for all the ground feeders. My yard list is now up to 94 species, maybe one day it'll get to 100. Mary HrudkajBelfair/Tahuya
