Tweeters,

I attempted to re-locate the horned lark in Ballard earlier this week. No luck on the lark, baseball games were going on and people everywhere. I made a lap around the park and a few side streets. Besides the typically city birds I came across a particularly birdy yard on the east side of the park. There i discovered a flock of gold finches, house finches, anna's hummers black capped chickadee, bewick's wren, robins and.... a western scrub jay. Overheard I heard some chirps and there was a flock of swallows. The few I id'd were tree swallows and while looking up i saw a very high soaring coopers hawk. What a great day 1 block of market st.

I went to UBNA yesterday. Did a loop thru yesler swamp and then around the fill. Highlight was a Hermit thrush in Yesler Swamp. I expected a Swainson's when it popped up but Hermit it was. I do recall seeing hermits earlier than swainsons in years past.
