I enjoyed about 50 Caspian Terns at the boat launch parking area in Everett yesterday afternoon, making sure to open the window on the leeward side of the car.

Going through my photos when I got home last night, I noticed that one of the terns was banded, So, utilizing the wonderful tool at http://www.mybandedtern.org/ I was able to find that this particular bird was banded on East Sand Island on July 12, 2002!
Check out this site and report any banded terns you're able to see long enough to read the bands, and remember, if the bird is facing you, its left leg is on your right! D'oh!!

*A special thanks via Tweeters to the good folks at Pilchuck Audubon who hosted me last night as I did a presentation about....Caspian Terns! A good time was had by all.

To everything, tern, tern, tern
