Wind chill made the mid-30s seem like sub-freezing temps. Fortunately, the deluge held off until the afternoon.

One Barn Owl was perched early on top of the tower building; another was seen well after dawn near the tennis courts, being chased by several crows. A Short-eared Owl vanished into the brush in the East Meadow.

Most of the ducks have left the lake, save for a small flock of Greater Scaup near NOAA and a couple of Common Goldeneye and a single Common Merganser. The large numbers of Mew Gull persist and a Common Loon was still in Pontiac Bay.

A pair of Cinnamon Teal were in the Entrance Pond (my first for the park). A group of 5 Greater Yellowlegs flew into the N Marsh Ponds, but then left shortly after, heading north.

Several dozen Yellow-rumped Warblers (just 1 Myrtle was observed) were in several flocks all over the park, many Common Yellowthroat were chuffing, and an Orange-crowned Warbler was silently foraging at the edge of the wetland ponds. The Anna's Hummingbird chicks are still in the nest by the tennis courts. Dozens of Violet-green Swallows were joined by a few Tree and Cliff Swallows.

Several Pacific Wrens were vocalizing with their chip notes,

For the day, 63 species; with CITE, GRYE and CLSW new for the year, up to 95 species.
