Hi folks,

I drove home through the Snoqualmie Valley after a meeting in Bellevue today, specifically to check for shorebirds migrating through.? At the intersection of SE 24th and West Snoqualmie?River Road near Fall City, a 'pondlet' mud puddle and muddy patch hosted ten Greater Yellowlegs, quite close to the road.? With the current weather forecast, it's doubtful the standing water in various fields will last much longer.? Also, along the Snoqualmie Valley Trail between the Stillwater parking area and the crossing of Hwy. 203 near Carnation, I had a single Greater Yellowlegs and a lone Western Sandpiper working another field puddle along the trail, and another four Greater Yellowlegs?working the edges of a larger field?puddle between the Sikes Lake bridge and West Snoqualmie Valley Road.? ? (F or those who are not that familiar with the area, West Snoqualmie Valley Rd. and W. Snoq. River Rd. are two different roads.? The former runs from the intersection of Ames Lake Road on the west side of the Snoqualmie River all the way to the bridge over the Snoqualmie near the old prison farm in Monroe.? West Snoqualmie River Road is a shorter road near Fall City.)
