Hi Tweets,

It is August 1st and the Hooded Warbler is still gracing the lovely Cape Horn trail in Skamania county on the Columbia River. It was chipping loudly and continuously from 9:15 - 9:30 am on a very misty morning and promptly went quiet when the mist turned into dripping rain. The bird was on the Upper Trail about ? mile up the trail. It was below the area of a recently repaired switchback, which in turn is below a set of 5 large timbered stairs. If you see the stairs, you've gone too far.

The male was calling from both sides of the trail and it was in the mid-story level of Alder thickets about 8' off of the ground.

Good birding,
