Hi Tweeters,

I was quite startled to hear a Common Raven calling from the central part of Lincoln Park (West Seattle) on Wednesday 8/7. A pair has appeared in late winter/early spring (Jan-April) for the past several years, but this year I've occasionally heard one after that time period.

On a different topic, small noises in my walls have made me think there might be mice or rats in our house. Inevitably, the possibility arises that we've drawn their attention via my many birdfeeders. How big a problem can such rodents be? If you've had success with a humane (nonterminal) way to extricate them (if that's what the noises turn out to be), please let me know via private email. Has anyone ended up taking down their feeders to discourage rodents?

Sigh. I do love my birdfeeders.

Thanks,
Trileigh
