Hi All,

I'm not sure which PAWS Devorah has had experience with, but I'm pretty sure the previous poster was referring to PAWS here in Lynnwood. We are a full service wildlife hospital and rehabilitation center. Our mission is to rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and return them to the wild. Euthanasia is definitely a part of our work, as we receive many animals that are too badly damaged to help in any other way, but our goal is always rehabilitation for release.

If you want to learn more about our work, you can find us online: http://www.paws.org/about-wildlife-center.html

You can also feel free to contact me directly if you have questions or concerns about our work.

i'd be cautious about giving ANY animals to PAWS to rescue. from what i've seen (in some areas, at least, this may not be true for your area, but it is worth investigating FIRST), they are more likely to euthanise than to foster & release later.

Here is a photo of the heron in question. I hope that it survives.

I'm late to this post but I've been told by someone who rescued a few fallen Commodore chicks, that PAWS will take them. If the herons fall out of the nest too early, the parents won't feed them on the ground. They are thus very vulnerable without flight or parental care.
