The presumed female of a pair of Eurasian Collared-Doves that visit my yard appears lighter colored to the naked eye than its mate. Were it a Ringed Turtle/Ring-necked Dove, I believe it would be called pied or pied fawn. It has many pale buffy or white spotches over most of its body and its tail is lighter colored.
