Spent the day around the general Potholes area with a quick run up to Soap Lake. The best bird of the day was a young Franklin's gull at Perch Point, Potholes. In general shorebirds at Potholes were not abundant yet, but Para Ponds near Othello was loaded with shorebirds. There was a nice group (80+) of red-necked phalaropes on Soap Lake. Non-shorebird notable was 85+ American white pelicans at North Potholes rookery. Normally see good numbers there but this seemed higher than normal.
