Aug. 17, seven RED-NECKED PHALAROPES were found by Steven Clarke and Cheri Kearney in the Columbia River just east of Reed Island, near Washougal, Clark County. They also mentioned finding an active colony of BANK SWALLOWS using the sand banks on the north side of Sand Island just off of nearby Rooster Rock State Park. I believe that this is a previously unreported nesting colony. Wilson Cady
