I had a good day birding the Tokeland, Bottle Beach, and Westport
areas today (and also ran into a lot of great folks along the way).
Had some pretty cool birds overall and made a stop in the morning at
Grayland Beach State Park to try for some SNOWY PLOVERS. I found a
group of 12 birds by walking to the beach from trail 5 at the park and
then south along the beach about 1/8 mile.
I tried for the ELEGANT TERNS early in the morning but had not
luck, so returned in the afternoon and was rewarded with 9 of them at
the Tokeland Marina. A few birds seen included:

HUDSONIAN GODWIT - (1) - Bottle Beach
SOOTY SHEARWATER - Grayland Beach SP - numbers of them streaming southward
SNOWY PLOVER - (12) - Grayland Beach SP
ELEGANT TERN - (9) - Tokeland
RED KNOT - (4) - Bottle Beach
RUDDY TURNSTONE - (2) - Bottle Beach
PECTORAL SANDPIPER - (1) - Bottle Beach (nice spotting by Blair B.)
WHIMBREL - (3) - Tokeland
WILLET - (4) - Tokeland
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER - Bottle Beach
GREAT EGRET - (1) - Tokeland

Cheers and Good Birding;
