Just had the pleasure of seeing a GHO fly across my back yard into a fir tree. Got my binos on him and as if on cue, swiveled his head to look in my direction. He sat only for a few seconds before taking off again. I've heard them many times at night, but never seen one. What a treat, and in broad daylight!
