Did a quick check of the Great-tailed Grackle and it was still present at 10:30am Tues. morning.

And while you are in the neighborhood, the pond at Levee Pond Park is just right for shorebirds, which is difficult habitat to find in Pierce Count. This morning there were both Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, LB Dowitchers and Spotted Sandpiper. Last week a Solitary and Least Sandpiper were in the mix.

As a bonus, you can sort thru the brown eclipsed plumages ducks and find the Blue-winged Teal.

Levee Pond Park: it will not show up on a map, as it is a newly created City of Fife park, the result of a mitigation project for the large warehouses in the distance.

>From Sam Peach Park go North on River Road 1.4 miles to 66th Ave E, cross over the Puyallup River on the metal girder bridge, take a right off the bridge to 70th Ave E (one longish block), take a left one block, take a right at the brown sign for the park and go one longish block to the end of the houses, take an unsigned right onto the gravel road into the park.
