Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 12. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER continues to be seen along Blackhawk Trail in
LaGrande. On December 7 a BLUE JAY was in the Felida Section of Vancouver.
The Brookings and Cove BLUE JAYS continue. The Yoncalla RUSTY BLACKBIRD is
still being seen.

Large flocks of KILLDEER are now being seen along the coast. Single TURKEY
VULTURES were reported during the week from Coquille, Corvallis, and Eugene.

Flocks of RED PHALAROPES and FULMARS, and a lone SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATER
were off Gold Beach December 6. On December 7 a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was at the
South Jetty of Yaquina Bay and a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW and NORTHERN SHRIKE
were at the Marine science Center. A WESTERN SCRUB-JAY was at Cape Meares
Village December 11.

At least 225 SANDHILL CRANES are still on Sauvie Island. Two GREAT EGRETS
were there December 8. On December 10 a WILSON?S WARBLER visited a water
source in Lake Grove. A late OSPREY was in Salem December 6.

A HARRIS?S SPARROW was seen December 4 near Barnes Butte Reservoir near
Prineville. Two BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were at Hatfield Lake near Bend. A late
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK visited a Klamath Falls feeder December 7. On December
10, 40 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were at Ladd Marsh WMA near LaGrande. A LOGGERHEAD
SHRIKE, some TREE SPARROWS, and a possible flock of REDPOLLS were at Malheur
NWR December 11.
