Well, for me personally, I consciously AVOID anything with the word
"peanut" when it comes to suet cakes, bird seed, or whatever rendition of such.
Squirrels, even if they can't actually get to it, if it smells like a
peanut, it's a peanut. I don't have a peanut allergy, but I do have a squirrel
allergy. Not literally, but you know what I mean. Peanuts = squirrels,
and around this area that's primarily the pesky non-native Eastern Gray
Squirrel. More aggressive than our cute, friendly, and non-intrusive little
native Douglas Squirrel, the Gray's out compete the Douglas and the next thing
you know, no Douglas Squirrels.

With much great success, I aggressively campaign to keep my
Bellevue-Eastgate yard and the neighborhood south of I-90 Gray Squirrel free, usually an
effort that has to be repeated every 3-5 years. Soon after the Gray's have
been eliminated (have-a-hart live trapped), 5 here in 48 hours just
recently, the Douglas return, repopulate, and are a great joy to have around,
...and no Eastern Gray Squirrels have been detected around here now for three
weeks! The Douglas Squirrels don't invade the feeders other than to tidy
up any left over mess (spilled sunflower) on the ground but otherwise stay
in the trees chattering away and nibbling on the cones up there as God
intended, nibbling them right down to the cores which I find strewn all over the
ground below, and if there's much mess from that, it's usually during a
short period in late summer. The Gray's on the other hand can at times be so
aggressive as to quite literally have attitude problems with some
individuals so demonically possessed as to exhibit sheer psychotic anger which
sometimes escalates into structural damage and destruction. Such anger issues
is the sum result of frustration I presume when they can't defeat my
anti-squirrel defense measures.

I haven't tried one of these methods for squirrel "relocation", but when I
first saw this video, I was quite shocked (as in LOL), having never seen
nor heard of such a thing much less been clever enough to have thought it
up. Call it sick humor if you choose, but this is kind of amusing.
