Subject: [Tweeters] NOT a Red-legged Kittiwake at the North Jetty
Date: Dec 15 18:34:00 2013
From: Mike Patterson - celata at pacifier.com
When I got the phone call this morning from the group on the
North Jetty about a Red-legged Kittiwake, I asked was it a flyby?
No, it's sitting on the jetty and it allowed a close approach and
photographs.
And you saw red legs?
Yes.
And you got photos?
Yes, through a spotting scope.
Well we looked at the photos during compilation. It is a BONAPARTE'S
GULL, probably first cycle formative, with bright PINK legs.
So, don't rush over to Pacific County for kittiwakes...
I will post details for the Columbia Estuary CBC in a separate post.
