A friend and I observed a LONG-EARED OWL roosting in small tree between the
first and second Eide Road pond today between 3 and 3:30. We were able to
get excellent photos of the bird and observe it coughing up a pellet while
we were watching. If you want further information on the bird location and
see some photos, please email me and I will respond quickly. The bird
seemed quite tame, but could easily be disturbed to the point of leaving the
area if too many folks approach it closely. It seemed to be oblivious to
nearby hunters.
