Another place to look for Yellow-billed Loons is in the outer part of Oak Bay north of Olele Point and south of Marrowstone Island. This is north of Port Ludlow. There were two YBLO there last Saturday during the Port Townsend CBC, and there was one there two years ago as well.

I'll make a stab and suggest perhaps the most consistent place for YBLO in WA this time of year is between the eastern end of Dungeness Spit and Protection Island. The Sequim/Dungeness CBC offshore boat recorded 10 YBLO in this area last Monday, along with another one scoped from shore at the north end of Miller Peninsula, between Sequim and Port Townsend. The CBC boat observers consistently find YBLO in this area. To view this area from shore, drive north on East Sequim Bay Rd almost to the end, turn right on Panorama, then right at the last T on Buck Loop, and walk to the beach at a little county beach access along Buck Loop. Good place to scan offshore west of Protection Island.

There are also charters at John Wayne Marina that will take you out (http://thewaterlimousine.com/). You'll not only find YBLO right now, but also lots of Ancient Murrelets and Long-tailed Ducks (our offshore boat recorded 1367 Ancient Murrelets and 616 LTDU last Monday).

Might as well give it a try while you're over here looking at the Emperor Goose.

I've see reports from Wednesday and Thursday of the Yellow-billed Loon at Tramp Harbor and curious if anyone saw it today?

I would be interested in hear any positive or negative reports.

Thanks
