I was walking the E shore of Sequim Bay yesterday scoping for marine waterbirds, when, shades of summer, a Spotted Sandpiper flew to me and lit close by, merrily bobbing on the tidal rocks. It still had a bit of breeding plumage and was a cheery sight on the shortest day of winter!
