Hi Tweets,

Yesterday morning my wife and I were snowshoeing at Blewett Pass on the Wenatchee Crest Trail, which starts from the Snow-Park on the south side of Hiway 97 at the pass. Roughly 100-200 yards up the trail (more like a road at that point) there was a mixed flock of 50-100 Pine Siskins and Redpolls feeding on the seed clusters from some shrubs in that area. The seed clusters were reminiscent of Goatsbeard but these shrubs had woody stems, 4-8 feet tall. No snowshoes are necessary on this trail to this area.

Happy Birding,
