Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird report. This report
was made Thursday February 7. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The wintering OVENBIRD around NE 40th and Davis in Portland continues to be
seen but has become highly elusive. The TUFTED DUCK along North Valley Road
south of Gaston continues to be seen. The MOUNTAIN PLOVER at Bullard?s Beach
State Park was seen again January 26. The female RUSTY BLACKBIRD is still
being seen at East Main and Mountain Avenue in Ashland.

Several SNOWY OWLS are still being seen at the South Jetty of the Columbia
River.

Flocks of TREE SWALLOWS were reported during the week at Coquille, Denman
WMA in the Rogue Valley, at the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove, and at
nearby Hagg Lake. An early VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW was at Hagg Lake February 6.
Early TURKEY VULTURES and WHITE-FRONTED GEESE are also being reported.

A GOLDEN EAGLE was in Scappoose Bottoms February 1, near Clatskanie February
2, and at Hagg Lake February 5. The Sauvie Island Rentenaar Road sparrow
flock is still being seen including the HARRIS?S SPARROW. A single BOHEMIAN
WAXWING was seen during the week at Smith/Bybee Lakes in North Portland. A
ROSS?S GOOSE was at the Tualatin NWR February 6.

The small flock of REDPOLLS that are wintering near Pilot Rock in southern
Jackson County continue to be see.

A very tame BARRED OWL is now being seen at Farewell Bend Park in Bend. On
February 2 a gray phase GYRFALCON was at Alfalfa in Central Oregon east of
Bend. Two are being seen in the Wallowa Valley east of Joseph. On February 2
a flock of 150 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were at the Enterprise Fish Hatchery.
