Hello Tweets!
The Slater Museum of Natural History will be hosting an open house night on
April 3rd in celebration of the confluence of art and science. The Museum
is currently looking for artist submissions to be displayed in conjunction
with this event.
The scientific study of the natural world regularly collides with visual
art, often providing us with a more intimate understanding of form and
function as a result. From detailed sketches in our field journals to
painted portraits of our feeder regulars -- our open house night seeks to
highlight this collision, inspiring inquiry and appreciation for natural
history and nature itself. If you would like to contribute or participate
as an artist at this event, please contact the museum at SlaterMuseum (at)
pugetsound (dot) edu.
To all the other interested nature-enthusiasts, we invite you to attend our
open house night on April 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Slater Museum of
Natural History at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA and enjoy
arts-and-crafts activities, natural history displays, live animal
encounters, and artwork by phenomenal students and professionals from the
local community. Admission is free and children of all ages are welcome!
Please contact the Slater Museum with any questions you may have.
Thanks! See you at the Museum!
