Hi, I spent a couple of hours at Eide Road today searching for the recently reported Prairie Falcon. I had 2 fly-by sightings there. As I was leaving crossing over the bridge into Stanwood, a large falcon on a wire got my attention. I made the next left into a road that goes back toward the river alongside the bridge. At the moment the Prairie Falcon flew across the field and landed on mud pile - and started to feed on a blackbird. I had great scope views for 15 minutes or so when I left the bird. Many thanks to Ken Brunner for finding and reporting the bird. There were at least 2 Rough-legged Hawks, one dark phase bird, at Eide Road. Snowy Owls and photographers were out in force but no hunters. Only 2 Short-eared Owls. Cheers, Steve
