Just a note to express my appreciation for the Bird Notes links this
week, particularly the San Diego and Florida entries. Although it is
sad to know about the losses, it is exciting to hear about efforts to
preserve what is left.

And thanks for the Harlequin Duck video, also. I must confess, I like
WATCHING birds as much as finding new ones to add to my lists!

And thanks for the tip about own's nest at Nisqually, too. I have not
been up there since the Festival, so it is time for another trip anyway.

The number of Stellar Jays visiting my feeders has increased in the last
week, also. Actually 12 is the most that I have seen at one time, but
even while I was counting them, I could hear more from the trees
out-of-sight.

As for the Couch List, that is what I should call my Project Feederwatch
reports because I start at daylight with my coffee, and I am usually
perched there (in my rocker, actually) for hours, enjoying the melee of
birds at the feeders and their interaction
