I have seen a short-eared owl once at the Edmonds marsh in the four years I have been photographing there.??? Its crow-tourage warned me of its arrival as they chased it across the marsh.? Similarly, I have seen a northern harrier only twice in the same period of time.? I wonder if the large crow population in the Seattle urban area has scared off short-eared owls and northern harriers from our local marshes.?
