The flock of about 30 Common Redpolls provided great scope views in
Bellevue. I was there from 11:30 to 3:00 with the redpolls present
throughout, feeding either in the cluster of birch trees just west of the
Bellevue Boys & Girls Club parking lot (15238 Lake Hills Blvd) or in the
single birch northeast of the lake. The flock would vary in size from 5 to
30 birds as subsets came and went. Despite about 20 birders looking during
that time, there was no sign of a Hoary. There must be other redpolls in
the area that come and go from the main flock.
