Subject: [Tweeters] Redpolls and Owlets

Many birders had easy and good views of the Larsen
Lake Redpolls (20+) in Bellevue - very close to
the Boys and Girls Club building - this morning
until at least 11 something when I left. No Hoary
Redpolls were seen but in poor light and with much
flight and motion who knows... Even more birders
saw the two Great Horned Owlets (and an adult)
along the Nisqually River trail at Nisqually NWR
later. When I left at 2:30 PM only one birder was
there and the parent had not moved from its perch
(on opposite side of trail). The owlets are
partially covered in more adult than downish
feathers. They were munching on a bird that had
been delivered to them several hours earlier.
