Finding the Prairie Falcon on a tree on Eide Rd was the best find of the day, but several other bird highlights made for a banner day for friend Ron and me up in the flats. The highlights:

Norman & Boe Rds - dozens of Bald Eagles; 2 Snowy Owls and some interesting information regarding possible future viewing access changes out there...

Along Pioneer Highway - Peregrine Falcon

Edison - light Merlin on conifer behind Old Edison Inn

Bayview - Edison Rd. (betw. Edison and West 90): 10 BAEA in the famous tree

Samish Island Rd. - Peregrine perched on low, thick utility wire along road, and hunting in low, wet fields

West 90 - at least 6 Short-eared Owls, coursing about, often very close to us and occasionally perched on posts, trees or snags; a little divebomb activity between an SEOW, a Northern Harrier and a Rough-legged Hawk

Farm-to-Market Road after dark - 3 Barn Owls

Norman Rd. after dark - 1 Barn Owl

Lots more made for the great day, including Gourmet Burgers and some great hearty soup at the Old Edison Inn.
