Swans seem to have discovered new territory this year. Reports from the
Enumclaw-Sumner-Puyallup-Auburn-Kent area have been coming in from several
people.
Today I flew an aerial survey (at last the weather cooperated) of this area.
My preliminary results indicate there are 125 swans in this area. Lake
Kathleen had 12, farm fields around Enumclaw-Sumner had 43 and Lake Tapps
was hosting 70. Most were in two groups, one at the south end and one
mid-lake. This is an impressive number of swans for this area.

If anyone has additional information on locations of lakes being used or
farm field locations please let me know off list.
Please keep in mind that we are interested in mortality or sick/injured
swans. If you see any please be sure to call me 425-787-0258.

One of the bonus moments today was a flock of swans flying near Monroe.
They began to land in a field and it was a treat to watch them maneuver and
land from above them.
Lots of ducks and geese around as well.

Thanks.
