Subject: [Tweeters] Female Rusty Blackbird on Samish Flats

Hi Tweeters,

I found female Rusty Blackbird in a flock of Brewer's Blackbirds at a
small farm pond on the north side of Field Road this morning. I got a
good look at it but it disappeared when I reached for my camera (birds
seem to have a sixth sense about that). I searched for a while for it
but the flock moved away fairly quickly.

I saw 76 male Eurasian Wigeons along Bayview Edison Road and Samish
Island Road north of the West 90. There were 25 in one flock of about
400 American Wigeons.

The Snow Geese on the Hayden Preserve were a spectacle! I
conservatively estimated the flock at 12000 but there could have been
16000-18000. If you go, wear a rain coat or carry an umbrella because
they drop bombs when they fly across the road to the next field, which
they do fairly regularly.
