Hi Tweets,

a nice end to our President's Day weekend field trip, on the way home
highlights included...

Many more 500 + Bohemian Waxwings flying around Washburn Island.

Merlin catching a sparrow and immobilizing prey in flight by
disarticulating cervical vertebrae with tomial tooth on upper beak.

Sharp-Tailed Grouse x 12 flying into the tops of water birch trees along
West Foster Creek in the Wells Wildlife Area west of Bridgeport Hill Road
thanks to spot by Michael Flemming and party.

Many pale throated Horned Lark suspected to be arctic or arcticola
subspecies mixed in with more abundant yellow throated subspecies.

Golden Eagle perched on precipice of haystack basalt boulder with light
snow falling.

Another terrific winter trip with 87 species seen Saturday through Monday.

We greatly appreciated the excellent birding and courtesy of ALL our
participants who helped to make our adventure so much fun. We had the help
of many other birders working the area who helped with spotting - thanks
for sharing your knowledge.

Good birding!
