Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland rare bird report. This report
was made Thursday February 28. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A bright male TUFTED DUCK is now being seen on Olalla Slough in Toledo. On
February 26 a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was photographed at Wildlife Safari
near Winston. A SNOWY OWL was photographed in Hood River February 19. They
are still being seen at the South Jetty of the Columbia River. On February
27 a GYRFALCON was at Pacific City.

Two male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS were brought to the Portland Audubon Rehab
Center February 21. Swallow migrations continue with a flock of about 400
TREE SWALLOWS south of Grants Pass February 24. Several VAUX?S SWIFTS were
over Beaverton February 23. SANDHILL CRANES continue moving northward on
both sides of the Cascades. A SAY?S PHOEBE was near Yamhill February 27.

On February 25 a SURF SCOTER was on the Columbia River near Rainier. The
Rentenaar Road sparrow flocks on Sauvie Island continue including the
HARRIS?S and CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS. On February 24 a TOWNSEND?S SOLITAIRE
was in Vancouver. A MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE visited a North Portland feeder
February 27. A PACIFIC LOON was in Eugene February 26. Twenty one GREATER
SCAUP and a WESTERN GULL were on the Willamette River in Eugene February 24.

The Wasco County wintering flock of TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS continue west of
Maupin. A REDPOLL was near Tygh Valley February 24. The wintering EURASIAN
GREEN-WINGED TEAL at Hatfield Lake near Bend continues. A REDPOLL was in
Bend February 23. About 40 REDPOLLS were in the Lower Klamath NWR during the
week. On February 24 about 25 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were at Collier State Park
along Hwy 97 north of Chiloquin.
