Hi birders: There is indeed a BROWN PELICAN around the Alki area. I espied
the bird this morning about 11:30 flying NW toward Seattle . I was along
the breakwater counting SURFBIRDS (85 in two flocks) on the rock below when
it flew by.



I also had a very large flock of SANDERLING (about 120) just past the
lighthouse.

Hello,



I saw what looked like a brown pelican near Alki beach. I never saw its head
but I could not think of any other bird with similar body shape, size and
color.



It was sitting on one of the signs off the shore with a bunch of cormorants.
I was halfway between the Alki beach and the tip of the peninsula (somewhere
here http://binged.it/WZcpBq)



I managed to get a photo through the scope. Ebird tells me that it is a rare
bird for this time of the year. Can someone take a look and tell me if I am
right?
