Hey tweets, today was heavenly at the Fill, as in: Good heavens! What
the heck was that??!!

I said it when I found:
? a SNOW GOOSE parked in the IMA field north of Clark Road, a young
one, I think, who didn't mind the baseball player practicing his
hitting in the same field
? the NORTHERN SHRIKE Kevin found yesterday, foraging around the
compost heap at Corporation Yards
? a NORTHERN HARRIER cruising the cattails around Canoe Island and
then skirting the Loop Trail - this is a bird almost unheard-of in
winter at the Fill

Other goodies:
? a Fox Sparrow at Surber
? a Lincoln's Sparrow at Boy Scout Pond
? a male Downy Woodpecker also at Boy Scout Pond - Downies have been
super-scarce over the past two months, as in, altogether missing
? a Virginia Rail in the cattails near the Reading Rocks
? 2 Belted Kingfishers courting in the skies above SW Pond
? a Pacific Wren at Leaky Pond

Holy cherubs in heaven, Batman, what a day. - Connie, Seattle
