Today I spent part of this morning birding Brackett's Landing Park
and the Fishing Pier in Edmonds and later made a quick stop at Juanita
Bay Park to look for the Northern Waterthrush. While nothing
spectacular was noted I did get some new year birds. In Edmonds a few
of the birds seen included:

Pacific Loon
Brant
Black Scoter
Brant's, Pelagic, & Double-crested Cormorants
Boneparte's Gull
Dunlin and a single Sanderling - all sitting together on a log
floating off shore at Brackett's Landing Park

At Juanita Bay Park I could not relocate the Northern Waterthrush
today that was reported earlier by Ryan Merrill, but did have 20+
Wilson's Snipe foraging in the mud near where the causeway and the bay
meet. Virginia Rails were calling from several locations in the park
where the habitat was appropriate.

Cheers and Good Birding;
