My niece and I went to Sandy Point at about 3:00 pm this afternoon to check out the Snowy Owls. We found five perched on various buildings around the community and one balanced on top of a very skinny 15-20' flagpole. Also, a Eurasian Collared Dove. My thanks goes to Curtis Brown for alerting us to the Snowies' presence.

Earlier we had gone to Semiahmoo and enjoyed seeing lots of Black Turnstones and Sanderlings, several Black Oystercatchers, and the usual Common Loons, Pelagic Cormorants, White-winged Scoters, Pigeon Guillemots, and Eared Grebes. Also, a Peregrine Falcon put on a show by repeatedly diving at a Bald Eagle.
