Yesterday afternoon I went out for a test walk in Lord Hill Park. I have
been having problems walking because of a nerve issue in my leg and I pushed
myself as far as I could get, which ended up in a lovely sunny spot. I was
fully rain and thermally suited up and I ended up falling asleep in the
sunshine in the woods. You have to be very careful sleeping in the woods
because the fairies can some out and put spells on you, turn you into a
newt, or otherwise mess with your head. I awoke to the sound of.THWACK
THWACK THWACK. At my feet was a Pileated woodpecker working over a log. It
actually chucked some debris on me. It hopped very near my head, then gave
its very loud call. It startled me and I seriously twitched and the bird,
equally surprised, dropped a load very close to my head and flew off. BTW,
anybody who claims bird poop is odorless doesn't know what they are talking
about.
