Thanks to Marv Breece for reporting a Rusty Blackbird among the Brewer's between I-5 and Silvana. I pulled off the freeway on my way south from Fir Island a little while ago and found a mixed flock of Starlings and Brewer's Blackbirds about a half mile west of I-5 on Pioneer Highway at the T intersection with 7th Ave. The Rusty is still with the flock. It has partially molted into alternate plumage but the head still shows rust-colored plumage above and below the darkish It only took a few minutes to find because of the small number of Brewer's.
