Hi folks,



I?accompanied Sharon Aagaard this morning on a field trip she led for the current master birder student class ?at Lake Sammamish State Park.? Overall it was a quiet (and later wet) morning, for which Sharon will create an e-bird report ?later.? However, the absolute shock of the morning was an adult ?male Wilson's Warbler found by one of the students and very well seen by everyone , as the bird was quite active, close and cooperative.? Birds of Washington has this species as a "very rare winter visitor in western Washington."? Whether this is a very early migrant, or a bird which never headed south last year , who knows - but it certainly was a surprise to see it.



It was located along the walking path leading from the main parking lot on the left as you enter the park, leading toward the canoe and kayak rental stand.? It was to the left of the path as you walk toward the rental stand , working low in the bushes and very active and visible only about 30 feet off the path.?
