Yes I have spent many a hours looking. I have had an adult feeding a young bird at the McCain potato ponds one year. I have never found a colony. If you decide to do so tri's like to forge in flocks so a corridor of tricolored should be looked for as they go from feeding to nesting areas. If the forging and nesting areas are close you will not be able to id this activity. Good luck.
