Where there are dragonflies, especially the beefier ones, there can be young or even adult Merlins, so, if you are going to see this huge gathering, keep an eye out for this avian predator thinning out the crowd of dragonflies or, more likely doing the same with any of the smaller birds that may be feasting on them, like the Cedar Waxwings!
