This afternoon, for a "quick check" at Reardan Ponds, was pleased to find some good numbers and excellent diversity of shorebirds with:

Killdeer - 8
Black-necked Stilt - 1
Spotted Sandpiper - 4
Greater Yellowlegs - 4
Lesser Yellowlegs - 6
Solitary Sandpiper - 1
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 4
Western Sandpiper - 20
Least Sandpiper - 13
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER -2 (seems a tad early)
STILT SANDPIPER - 1
Long-billed Dowitcher - 8
WIlson's Snipe - 2
WIlson's Phalarope - 8

Also of note were a conservative count of 80 EARED GREBES, about half chicks. Photos of some of the more interesting shorebirds posted on Flickr.

Good birding,
