22 birders headed out of Friday Harbor on a
special charter this morning hoping to find the
Horned Puffin. No luck on that but a great trip
highlighted by super views of many Marbled
Murrelets and 4 Cassin's Auklets. Very large
numbers of Rhinoceros Auklets and some Common
Murres. Some Black Oystercatchers on the various
small islands as well. Super weather, calm seas,
no wind, great boat and a captain that did all he
could to find the bird. Disappointing not to see
it but all had a great time.
