The day started off clear, with a beautiful sunrise, then clouded over, keeping the sun hidden until almost noon. Which made for a delightfully cool morning for watching all the juvenile birds out and about. Notables included:

Common Merganser - 2 juvenile with adult female
Spotted Sandpiper - 1 juvenile at Crescent Pond, another at Entrance Pond
Least Sandpiper - on rocky beach by sailboat dry dock
Band-tailed Pigeon - 1 flew into tall cottonwoods by NOAA fence line
Lazuli Bunting - 2 juvenile on Kite Hill
Bullock's Oriole - juvenile on Kite Hill
Green Heron - 2nd week in a row, this time on the N shore of the sail lagoon

For the day, 46 species.
